According to the Chinese philosophy of Wuxing, there are five fundamental elements that control and explain the natural phenomena in the world. These elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.[1] Five elements theory emerged during the Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BCE) in Ancient China, and throughout history, the theory has played an important role in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Chinese Zodiac, and Feng Shui.[2]
