How can I get rid of the lines that are at the sides of my mouth?
So you know how under your nose and above your lip you have that one spot and in that one spot at the sides there are like wrinkles that show like a curving line that's really dark for me. I really want to get rid of it so badly. How?

Those lines are kind of like your laugh lines. There are lots of tools that we have now for this. Utimately, wrinkles are just signs of aging and signs of a loss of collagen. You can do laser resurfacing, both ablative and non-ablative. You can do fillers or biostimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse. You can do non-invasive treatments like Emface for people who are afraid of needles and want to stimulate collagen through radio frequency and electromagnetic energy.
But, I think the biggest thing that I would emphasize is that patients should go in and get a real cosmetic consultation under the supervision of either a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. It doesn't have to be actually with the dermatologist or the plastic surgeon, but it should be in an office under the supervision of one of them. In my office, for example, we have two aestheticians who do all of our consultations. The treatment is so individualized, which is why you've got to go to the office. Once we see the situation, we try to fit within their budget so they can get the best outcome possible. But, it's important to start with that cosmetic consultation at a qualified office.

First and foremost, try to minimize activities that cause you to purse your lips, like smoking, drinking through a straw, or sipping through a very narrow bottle opening, since these things are going to worsen those lines around the mouth. Next, treat the area with excellent anti-aging products. Incorporate an antioxidant into your skincare regimen, such as a cream or serum with vitamin C, vitamin E, and ferulic acid, and use something that helps promote cell turnover and stimulate collagen, such as peptides, alpha hydroxy acids, or retinoids. Finally, invest in a really excellent SPF 30 sunscreen to protect the skin from ongoing sun damage and ultraviolet breakdown of the collagen.
