Why do people like dogs so much?
I'm not a huge fan of dogs like most people I meet are, but why are dogs so loved while cats are so hated?
Help potty training a puppy
I have a 5-month-old puppy and I’m really overwhelmed with potty training. I feel like I’m taking her outside every hour to try and avoid accidents and half of the time we just end up staring at each other while she whimpers. I just have no idea if I’m doing this right or not. I’ve watched videos and stuff about rewards and reinforcement but it just feels like nothing is really sticking? Any advice?
My dog is constipated. What do I do?
This is my first time owning a dog and my 6-month-old retriever is constipated. He normally poops 1-2 times a day, but he hasn't gone in about 36 hours now and I’m sort of freaking out. I did call my friend who is a vet student and she sort of said that it should be okay but that if nothing changes it’s an emergency. Is that true? When do I need to go to the ER? My dog seems like he’s trying to go, but nothing comes out. I feel so bad for him but at the same time I don’t want to go spend a bunch of money on the vet if this is just a normal thing that happens to dogs sometimes.
Discharge in my dog's eye. Are there any home remedies?
Are there any home remedies for eye discharge in dogs? My 6-year-old retriever is getting this kind of greenish gunk coming out of her eye. It doesn’t seem to bother her at all, she isn’t pawing at it or anything, but I’m also kind of worried it might turn into an infection. I don’t know, what should I do for her? I’ve been wiping the discharge away whenever I see it but it keeps coming back.

Best home remedies for my dog's diarrhea?
My poor dog has diarrhea. I’ve got a vet appointment scheduled for tomorrow, but in the meantime, I really want to make sure she’s comfortable. I’m worried specifically about dehydration, I know dogs can get into a kind of dangerous territory when they have diarrhea and don’t drink enough water. My girl seems fine otherwise, but are there any warning signs I should look out for? Any tips on making sure she’s comfortable? Any home remedies for diarrhea I can try?
Why does my dog lick my face so much and how do I get him to stop?
I got my dog, Hero, when he was just a wee pup, and he's been a licker the entire time I've had him. Every time I go to pick him up he's scrambling to attack my face in kisses. It's super cute, but also slightly gross, and I know that as he gets bigger it's going to become more of an issue (especially because he does it to strangers too sometimes).
So, why do dogs lick people's faces? I assume my dog just loves me but could something be wrong? What should I do to curb this behavior, if anything?
