So, try to attract them in increments. You have to catch their eye first. When you catch their eye, give them a smile. Did they smile back? If they smiled back, that's a good sign.
If they look at you for more than three seconds, that's kind of an invitation because they seem to be interested. That's not just a glance and a dismiss. It's an, "I'm seeing you." Make sure to pay attention and only make a move once you're receiving clear interest. After that, you can approach them and give them a compliment.
People love compliments. "I really love your form. I really love how you did that. I really love your outfit." From there, have a short conversation. "Do you come here a lot? I haven't noticed you before."
Then you have to add an invitation. "Do you want to work out together?" If they say no, obviously, you have to respect that. If it seems like they're close to the end of their workout, say, "Do you want to get together for a coffee sometime?"
Always keep in mind that the gym is like a workplace. You have to respect people there. If you aren't sure about making a move, don't make one.
I recommend a text message. "Hey, I've been doing some thinking. I don't feel this is a good fit for me, but I really do wish you all the best." That's it.
If they call you, or if they reply with anything other than acceptance of what you say, block them. If they try to call you, block them.
A great date is going to leave you feeling high — literally energized. If your date is smiling a lot and expresses verbal desire to see you again, those are great signs they're feeling it too.
