Learn how to find, hatch, and use Dinosaur Eggs in Grow a Garden
PDF download Download Article

Dinosaur Eggs are one of the many egg types in the Roblox game Grow a Garden. Unfortunately, Dinosaur Eggs aren't available in the game right now, but they may come back in a future update or event. If that happens, you'll want to be prepared—and this article can help you! In this wikiHow, we'll explain how Dinosaur Eggs were obtained, how to hatch them, and what pets you can obtain from them (plus their hatch rate and traits).

Dinosaur Eggs in Grow a Garden

Dinosaur Eggs were obtainable during the Prehistoric Event in July 2025. If you still have a Dinosaur Egg, you can hatch it by placing it in an empty spot in your garden. The egg will take just over 4 hours to hatch, and can contain a Raptor, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Pterodactyl, Brontosaurus, or T-Rex.

  1. The Prehistoric Event ran from July 5, 2025, to July 19, 2025.[1] During this event, players could use the DNA Machine to convert their non-dinosaur pets into Dinosaur Eggs.[2]
    • Right now, there's no way to obtain a Dinosaur Egg. You'll need to wait for them to become available again, unless you already have some Dinosaur Eggs you haven't hatched yet.[3]
      • There is a trading system in Grow a Garden, but eggs cannot be traded.
    • There are six pets obtainable from the Dinosaur Egg.[4]
  2. To do this, equip the egg from your inventory and place it in your lot. You then must wait until the egg hatches.[5] Dinosaur Eggs take 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch.[6]

Possible Pets from the Dinosaur Egg

  1. The Raptor is green and stands on two legs. It also has a long tail. While it looks similar to the T-Rex pet, the Raptor is smaller and a lighter shade of green.[7]
    • Obtainment chance: 35%
    • Traits:
      • Clever Claws: A 2-2.5% chance that fruits will get the Amber mutation after harvesting. Rarer plants have a lower chance of mutating.
      • Raptor Dance: Gives the player a 14-14.5% increase to their movement speed.
  2. The Triceratops is red, with two large horns on its forehead and one smaller horn on its nose. It also has three white toes on each foot.[8] The Triceratops is a good pet if you have a passive farm, thanks to its trait.
    • Obtainment chance: 32.5%
    • Trait:
      • Tri-Horn: Every 3 minutes and 33 seconds, the Triceratops will charge into three random plants. This will advance the growth of these plants by 33 minutes and 33 seconds. There's a 15.18% chance for the ability to trigger again, and it can stack multiple times on a plant.
  3. The Stegosaurus is four-legged and dark green, with dark red plates on its back.[9]
    • Obtainment chance: 28%
    • Traits:
      • Prehistoric Doubling: Has about an 8% chance to double harvested fruit. Rarer crops have a lower chance of doubling.
      • Prehistoric Harvester: Has about a 5% chance to duplicate harvested Prehistoric Type crops (Amber Spine, Bone Blossom, Boneboo, Firefly Fern, Fossilight, Grand Volcania, Horned Dinoshroom, Horsetail, Lingonberry, Paradise Petal, and Stonebite).
  4. The Pterodactyl looks similar to a bird, but it's bright blue with a yellow fin on its head. The Pterodactyl's body is darker blue, while the nose and feet are a lighter blue.[10]
    • Obtainment chance: 3%
    • Traits:
      • Sky Reptile: Will occasionally apply the Windstruck (and potentially Twisted) mutation to multiple nearby fruits.
      • Air Time: Increase the player's jump height by 14.39%.
  5. The Brontosaurus is a large four-legged creature with a long neck and brown skin. Note: giving the Brontosaurus a Medium Toy will increase its passive by 1.05% and giving the Brontosaurus a Small Toy will increase its passive by 0.525%.[11]
    • Obtainment chance: 1%
    • Trait:
      • Giant Incubator: Pets hatched from eggs have a 5.2-30% chance of having an increased base size and weight. This bonus will not apply to other Brontosauruses.
  6. The T-Rex is a large two-legged creature with dark green skin. It has a light brown chest and belly, and it has some teeth protruding from its mouth. It resembles the Raptor, but is larger and slightly darker green.[12]
    • Obtainment chance: 0.5%
    • Trait:
      • Apex Predator: About every 20 minutes, the T-Rex will eat a random mutation from a fruit in your garden. It will then roar and apply that mutation to 3 other fruits in your garden. The T-Rex will not devour mutations from favorited fruits (unless that's the only fruit in your garden), nor will it spread mutations like Gold and Rainbow.
