QuestionWhy does there have to be a beanbag inside a beanbag?
T. ChinsenTop AnswererIt is extremely difficult to prevent beans from falling out when attempting to sew a bean bag shut. Better-quality fabrics like canvas or vinyl are relatively stiff, and the beans would spill out while you are trying to sew it shut. In addition, if the outer layer becomes damaged (such as by seam separation), the inner bag stops everything falling out and making a mess. -
QuestionFor the inside liner, could I use an old blanket?
PhoebeAmelia24Community AnswerYes, you totally could. As long as the blanket provides enough material, then it will work well. -
QuestionHow many beans would I need to fill this bean bag?
DiamondWarrior649Top AnswererEveryone has their own preferences on the firmness of their beanbag. Make sure you have quite a quantity of pellets. Continue to fill it up until it's comfortable for you. -
QuestionIf I use packing peanuts for filler, how many bags should I buy? Stores sell them in 100-liter bags.
Paris25Community AnswerIt depends on the size of your beanbag chair. 3 or 4 bags should be enough for an average-size chair. -
QuestionI'm making a bean bag chair. Could I use stuffed animals as a filling instead of pellets?
Community AnswerYou have a couple of options depending on what you're trying to achieve. You can use whole stuffed animals inside a bean bag cover as a comfortable way to store them, but this will feel more chunky than a traditional pellet-filled bean bag. If you open them up to use their fiberfill stuffing, you would essentially create a large, pillow filling rather than a moldable bean bag, as fiberfill behaves very differently from styrofoam pellets. -
QuestionWhat is the best place to find zippers?
Community AnswerYou can find bulk 5-yard zippers on Amazon. If that is too short or too long, look in craft stores. -
QuestionWhat am I doing wrong? I’ve cut the fabric exactly, but my rectangular pieces are not long enough to go around my circle.
Amy ClarkCommunity AnswerMany things can go wrong to cause the pieces to not line up right. Maybe the fabric has some stretch to it, or maybe something moved while you were measuring or cutting. But no matter why the pieces came out wrong, it's easy to fix! You can sew on more fabric until the rectangle is long enough to go all the way around the circle.
