Get unlimited height or speed boosts in Skate 4
PDF download Download Article

Skate 4 (officially titled "skate.") is a skateboarding game where you can explore the dynamic world of San Vansterdam with enhanced physics and complete control over your tricks. Because of the physics, there are a few silly glitches that can launch your character into the sky or add a huge speed boost. The Skate developers (EA) are constantly patching the game, so be sure to test these Skate 4 glitches out before they're gone!

New Launch Glitch in Skate 4

To do the new launch glitch in Skate 4, head to the ledge in the Hartcore Plaza. Jump on the ledge, and then let your board drop upright on the ledge. Run at the skateboard and jump on it to get unlimited height and fly.

Skate 4 Glitches

  1. This glitch involves dropping your board on a ledge so it lands in an upright position, and then running and mounting the board. This glitch sends you extremely high up in the air—perfect for trying out tricks on the taller buildings. While this glitch may be patched, you can still try it out by doing the following:
    • Go to the Hartcore Plaza in Hedgemont.[1]
    • Go to the ledge across from the circular San Vansterdam City Council sign.
    • Jump on top of the ledge. If your character grabs the railing, release the railing and just stand on the ledge.
    • Drop your skateboard. If it doesn't fall upright with the top wheels hanging onto the ledge, pick up the board and try again.
    • Walk back to put some distance between your character and the skateboard.
    • Run to the skateboard and jump on to launch into the air.
  2. This glitch involves combining a charged hippie jump with a backflip and fastplant to get a speed boost. It must be done with the correct timing, so it might take you a few tries before it lands properly. For best results, set your character's height to 1. While this glitch may be patched, you can still try it out by doing the following:
    • Start a charged hippie jump. On Xbox, press the X + A buttons. On PlayStation, press the X + Square buttons.
    • Start a backflip when you're in the air. If you're using a controller, hold down the Left trigger and pull back on the left stick.
    • Wait for your character to be upside down.
    • Continue holding the left trigger and repeatedly press the fastplant button. On Xbox, this is X. On PlayStation, this is Square.
    • Release all buttons when you see the fastplant animation. Your character will get a speed boost.
    • It may take a few tries to get the correct timing. It's recommended to practice the charged hippie jump, backflip, and fastplant movements individually for better success when put together in this glitch.

  3. This glitch forces your character to spin at an incredible rate. You'll likely have seen this glitch on trending Skate 4 videos. While this may be patched, you can still try it out by doing the following:
    • Start a hippie jump. On Xbox, press X + A at the same time. On PlayStation, press Square + X at the same time.
    • Hold the stick towards the left or right.
    • Hold RB as the character begins to turn.
  4. This glitch involves bailing in a way that forces the characters legs to bend in an unnatural way. When you get back up again, your character's leg will be in the same position during the bail—now upright.
  5. This has been patched, but it involved players lining up to drop and then immediately bailing. This would fling the character out of bounds while ragdolling. Bailing makes your character drop the board and turn boneless, so there's likely other ways to get flung with this mechanic.
  6. The T-pose glitch launches your character up in the sky. While standing still, you'd hop onto the board and move the right stick down to t-pose during a manual. Then, doing an emote would launch the character upwards.
