Are you a fan of English-dubbed anime? If so, you're probably looking for a place online to watch more of it. Thankfully, there are quite a few spaces online where you can find English-dubbed anime, including paid streaming services and free sites online. Keep reading to learn more.

Where to Find English-Dubbed Anime

  • Anime streaming services like Crunchyroll and HIDIVE are the best sites to find dubbed anime.
  • Regular streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max also have substantial dubbed anime libraries.
  • Sites like 9Anime, Anicrush, KissAnime, Tubi, and Pluto TV have English-dubbed anime available for free.

Subscription Streaming Services

  1. Crunchyroll is probably the most popular anime streaming service. While not all of Crunchyroll's anime series are dubbed, many of them are, especially the more popular ones. While you can use Crunchyroll without a subscription, the experience is very limited. While the full Crunchyroll experience requires a subscription, there are multiple tiers available, and they also offer a 7-day free trial so you can test out the service before you commit to a sub.[1]
    • Crunchyroll's subscription costs between $7.99/mo to $15.99/mo, or $79.99/yr to $149.99/yr, though you can sometimes get a discount.[2]
  2. HIDIVE is another popular anime streaming service. While Crunchyroll has a larger library, HIDIVE still has a number of great titles, including many dubs. The upside to HIDIVE is that the subscription fee is lower than Crunchyroll's, which might be beneficial if you want to save some money and you like the shows in HIDIVE's library. They also offer a 7-day free trial.[3]
    • HIDIVE's subscription costs $6.99/mo or $69.99/yr.[4]

  3. Netflix is probably the most popular streaming site in the world, full stop, so you might already have a subscription. Alongside the movies and TV shows you might expect, however, Netflix also has a ton of English-dubbed anime, including a few original series (such as Devilman Crybaby and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners). Unlike Crunchyroll and HIDIVE, however, Netflix doesn't offer a free trial.
    • Netflix has several plans. Standard with ads is $7.99/mo, while standard (with no ads) is $17.99/mo. A full premium plan is $24.99/mo.[5]
  4. HBO Max is another popular standard streaming service that also has an extensive library for anime fans. However, one thing to note is that HBO Max has some English-dubbed anime movies that aren't available on Netflix, such as the Studio Ghibli films, Perfect Blue, and Belle (to name a few). Like Netflix, HBO Max doesn't offer a free trial.
    • HBO Max has several plans. Basic with ads is $10.99/mo, while standard (with no ads) is $18.49/mo. Premium is $22.99/mo. Annual plans are also available.[6]
    • HBO Max is also available through other providers, such as your mobile or internet provider. It's also commonly bundled with other streaming services, such as Disney+ and Hulu.

Free Sites

  1. There are many free anime streaming sites that are very similar. That's because these streaming sites don't host the videos themselves, but source them from the same video-sharing hosts. Of all the sites we tested, they all appeared to offer the same titles to watch, and choosing a site comes down to preference. These sites all have similar layouts and features (such as new release schedules, "watch2gether", toggles to display an anime's English or Japanese name, and offering both English dubs along with subs). Below are some free anime streaming sites that we found to be easy and safe to use:
    • 9Anime (9animetv.to)
    • Anicrush (anicrush.to)
    • HiAnime (hianime.to)
    • Kaguya (kaguya.app)
    • KissAnime (kissanime.com.ru)
      • Always use an adblocker when using a free streaming site. When we tested each of the above sites, only 9Anime gave us pop-up ads. However, it is recommended to always have an adblocker extension installed if you use free streaming sites to avoid ads that could be malicious.
      • While it's not as crucial as using an adblocker, consider using a VPN as an extra layer of security.
  2. Tubi is a legit free streaming service—that is, the content on the site isn't pirated. Although the main focus of this site isn't anime, it does offer an extensive anime selection. However, you won't find any new or somewhat obscure series on Tubi. While you can't pick between subs or dubs on Tubi, there are some anime with English subs.
    • Tubi doesn't require you to make an account to start watching.
  3. Pluto TV is another free, legit streaming service that has some anime in its catalog. However, just like Tubi, the selection isn't incredibly diverse, and you won't find any new and trending titles to watch. While most anime is subtitled on Pluto, you'll find some English-dubbed anime.
    • Just like Tubi, you can start watching Pluto without an account.

Warnings

  • Use free anime streaming sites at your own risk. In the United States, watching pirated content via a stream isn't illegal as long as you don't download it, but this may not be the case in all parts of the world.[7]
